I hope March has started out to be a good month for everyone, London has been very kind these days with sunny and warmer weather. Does this mean spring is here? I don’t know but I am super happy with the weather right now and I hope it stays that way.
So, I was lucky enough to get a chance to visit Germany for 5 days, I got to visit not one but two cities, Berlin and Munich, the two cities are very different in my opinion, Munich looks more olden and there isn’t a lot of skyscraper there, while there are a lot in Berlin. Berlin also has a lot for grand architecture of the olden days especially at the Museum Island, but I was told that most of it was rebuilt after the war, so that it looks like what it was pre-war period. It was such an amazing experience for me to get a chance to visit the East Side Gallery, where the Berlin Wall that divided the East and West was painted with beautiful arts. While in Berlin, I got a chance to visit the chocolate restaurant, I was a little skeptical cause I didn’t think chocolate would go well with a savoury dish, but it did, I loved the duck salad with nutty chocolate, it was the bomb. I wanted to get a full view of Berlin from above, so I decided to visit the Television Tower, which has a rotating restaurant that provides you with a 360 degree view of the city.
I then off to Munich after two days in Berlin, it was quite different from Berlin. The city centre reminded me a little of Austria, it was olden, there weren’t any tall buildings. And not far from it is the English Garden, which is quite similar to Hyde Park but seems a lot bigger, in there, they have Japanese tea house, Chinese pagoda. I think it such a great place to hang out with friends over the weekend in Munich. The next day, I decided to spend the entire day in the Olympic Park at the outskirts of town, I was amazed with how big it is and what an amazing thing that they achieved as it was built for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Next to the Olympic Park or rather opposite, was the BMW manufacturing plant, showroom and museum, which I got a chance to visit. I was overwhelmed with excitement because BMW is probably one of my favourites car brand, for its quality, innovation and design. They even provide the tour of the BMW plant, which provides an insight to how the cars are being made. Being a Business Studies student, operations management is part of my degree, the operations that BMW has, blown my mind away, it was an experience I will never forget. If you ever have a chance to visit Munich, find a day to visit Olympic Park and BMW, because it definitely a worthwhile experience.
So that is a summary of my time in Germany, and below are some of my favourite moments of my time there. I’m still working on the travel vlog for Germany, being away from uni for a few days, my work has already piling up, so I need to prioritise my time to finish up the work. However, I will definitely have it up by this week.
